Rachel Bonnema, MD, associate professor, Division of General Internal Medicine, serves on the Association of Program Directors of Internal Medicine (APDIM) Program Planning Committee. APDIM is a branch of AAIM. The program planning committee plans, executes and evaluates APDIM-sponsored meetings and precourses.
Kelly J. Caverzagie, MD, associate professor, Division of General Internal Medicine, is among seven members of the AAIM Collaborative for Healing and Renewal in Medicine (CHARM) steering group. CHARM’s mission is to gather best practices, promote investigation of the impact of learner burnout, develop tools for educators to address learners in distress and advocate for the recognition and inclusion of initiatives that foster well-being among learners.
Erin Maxwell, Internal Medicine Education, also contributes to an AAIM national committee—the Wellness Committee. The committee’s mission is to identify, build, collect and promulgate resources and tools that advance supporting wellness of faculty, staff and learners. The committee is assessing the impact of wellness activities at the Academic Internal Medicine Week 2017, highlighting recent relevant publications related to physician wellness, collaborating with CHARM on faculty development toolkits and online resources and collecting best practices for administrator and staff wellness initiatives.
