The Sidewalk Astronomers, a worldwide organization of amateur astronomers committed to bringing the wonders of the sky into people’s lives, invite the UNMC and Nebraska Medicine community to join them for public observations of the moon and stars on Tuesday, April 4, and Tuesday, May 2.
On a clear night, the Sidewalk Astronomers set up their telescopes in public spaces and offer people the opportunity to look through their “eyes to the sky.”
Local sidewalk astronomers will have telescopes set up on the green space near the ice rink in the UNMC Student Plaza from 7-9 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Parking is available in Lot 13 on 41st and Dewey streets.
Cloud/rain dates are Wednesday, April 5, at 7 p.m. and Thursday, May 4, at 7 p.m.
With sunset today at 7:47pm, what can we expect to see at 7pm on April 5? Will the sky not be too light to see stars and planets?
