“The Culture of Healing” is the theme for the 2017 Culture Fest to be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on April 6 at the Sorrell Center’s Truhlsen Campus Events Center.
This year’s event will celebrate the four cultures of China, Sweden and Norway, Saudi Arabia and Nepal and will feature Himalayan and Arabian coffee samples, Henna tattoos and Scandinavian folk dancers, as well as Nepalese candies and cookies.
“This year we want to focus on the ties that UNMC has through academic or clinical partnerships with these countries, so we can better understand their cultures,” said Diane Kortus, employee training and development specialist, UNMC Human Resources.
In addition, several students from the featured countries are going to be in attendance at the event, Kortus said.
All faculty, staff and students are welcome at Culture Fest, which is sponsored by UNMC Human Resources, Employee Relations, Organizational Development and Diversity.
