The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing West Nebraska Division in Scottsbluff will host an open house March 31 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for those interested in nursing careers. The college welcomes high school students, college students and others with degrees who may be interested in nursing.
The open house will be held at the college in the Harms Building, 2620 College Park.
The open house will provide information about the traditional and accelerated bachelor’s degree in nursing programs, financial aid, scholarships, and the admission process. It also will feature hands-on demonstrations, student-led tours and talks by students who will share their experiences.
Students can apply to the program once they have completed a majority of the 58 credit hours of required prerequisite course work, which can be done at any accredited university, college or community college. After completing 62 credit hours in the UNMC nursing program, students earn a BSN.
The BSN program not only provides clinical training, it provides skills and knowledge in leadership, teamwork, critical thinking, best practices, patient safety and quality improvement.
