Tell us about what you do at UNMC.
I am the learning resource center/simulator coordinator for the College of Nursing Lincoln Division.
Teamwork is one of our ITEACH values. Tell us of a time you witnessed a person or group at UNMC exhibit this value.
To me, teamwork is when every member has the ability to work together to achieve a common purpose. When everyone can work together, they feel as if they are part of a unit, and outcomes are improved. Not only is it an opportunity for professional development, but it is a means to make your workload easier and more proficient — “two heads are better than one.” Every day I see the faculty, staff, and students collaborate and compromise to work efficiently to achieve common goals.
What is your favorite spring activity?
I have so much more energy in the spring. I love to be outdoors, so it is hard for me to pick one favorite! One of my favorite things to do is go for a walk in the evening with my dog, Luna, so I can enjoy the beautiful Nebraska sunsets.
List three things people may not know about you.
- My mom has always been my role model, so I wanted to follow in her footsteps and become a nurse. I attended UNMC-Kearney Division and now am a registered nurse.
- I read at least one book a month, sometimes up to five, because I love to read.
- I may not look like it, but I am pretty athletic and like to play all sports, even football. (Go Big Red!)
