How I fell in love with medicine:
With my father a surgeon, and my mother a nurse, I grew up in a very medically oriented household. The first time I got to go into the operating room with my father, I was enamored, and when I got to watch him update a family after a successful surgery, I knew that surgery would be a fulfilling and meaningful way to spend my life. This calling increased when I discovered the complex physiology of the endocrine organs and the ability to surgically treat and cure so many conditions afflicting them.
