The ALS Association Mid-America Chapter presented Nebraska Medicine with a $25,000 check in support of The ALS Association Certified Treatment Center of Excellence.
The support recognizes the association’s commitment to the financial, staffing, in-kind support and specialty programs of the center at Nebraska Medicine, as well as their commitment to the ALS community and the leadership in providing comprehensive, multi-disciplinary ALS clinical care.
Becoming a Certified Treatment Center of Excellence is a rigorous process that includes providing a full multidisciplinary team, an ALS or neuromuscular neurologist, monthly clinics, active involvement in ALS-specific research and an active relationship with the local ALS Chapter.
The goal of The ALS Association Certified Treatment Center of Excellence Program is to establish and support a national standard of care for people living with ALS though a distinguished network of clinical settings. The intent is to provide evidenced-based multidisciplinary care, support programs, education and best-practice clinical management of ALS.
