I am the assistant professor and site coordinator for the West Division Dental Hygiene program. As the site coordinator, I am involved in all aspects of dental hygiene education, including clinics, labs and didactic content. I have been fortunate to be a part of the education of all 12 classes of dental hygiene graduates from the West Division program in Gering, Neb. I am blessed each and every day to get to do what I love!
Excellence is one of UNMC’s brand values. Tell us of a time you witnessed a person or group at UNMC exhibit this value.
I witness excellence every day within the UNMC Department of Dental Hygiene. I specifically saw our program director, Gwen Hlava, exemplify this as she led our department through the innovation of creating the West Division program, and I see it in our faculty team approach to incorporating and embracing technology in our curriculum and rotations, and most recently, as our department celebrated the milestone of our 50th anniversary in September.
