Thanks to the University of Nebraska’s corporate membership to the Omaha Press Club, employees of UNMC/Nebraska Medicine can join the club at the low annual rate of $180 per person. Couples need only one membership.
The corporate membership does include a $40 quarterly minimum usage fee, if you don’t use the club. However, if you use the club and incur $40 or more in charges during the quarter, there is no minimum charged.
The corporate rate is $300 less than the $480 cost of an individual membership — a savings of more than 60 percent.
Located at 16th and Dodge streets on the 22nd floor of the First National Center, the Omaha Press Club has a restaurant and bar and offers a spectacular panoramic view of Omaha. With a capacity of about 250 people, the club is an ideal setting for a wedding reception and other special events, as the room rental charge is waived for members.
Membership in the OPC includes reciprocal privileges to certain private clubs in Omaha and around the country. The club provides a monthly noon forum series featuring topics of interest as well as professional development workshops and other special events such as the Face on the Barroom Floor, which is held four times per year.
The Press Club has a long commitment to providing scholarships to journalism students at UNL, UNO and Creighton University. For more information on membership to the OPC, click here or contact Tom O’Connor, UNMC public relations, at 402-559-4690. O’Connor is on the OPC Membership and Marketing Committee.
