Rae Rohlfsen, M.D., is a new faculty member at UNMC.

  • Name: Rae Rohlfsen, M.D.
  • Hometown: Omaha
  • Title and department at UNMC: Chief resident, general internal medicine; instructor, UNMC Department of Internal Medicine

Research/professional interests:

  • Obesity and weight loss
  • Patient education

How I fell in love with medicine:
I have always known that I love working with people. I ended up falling in love with general internal medicine in medical school, as it provided the best opportunity to work with the “whole person,” while simultaneously allowing for the opportunity to build relationships.

Degree:

  • M.D., St. Louis University School of Medicine

Three things people may not know about me:

  • I love country line dancing and would live in boots if I could.
  • I like to run but I force myself to run some days so I can eat more dessert.
  • I am fortunate that my family all lives in Omaha, including my niece and future niece or nephew!
