The VA Nebraska/Western Iowa Health Care System (NWIHCS) welcomed Renee Woehrer, MD, as the new Associate Chief of Staff for Education. Dr. Woehrer has been the Credentialing/Professional Standards Board Chair for NWIHCS since 2013 and has been on staff at the Omaha VA since 1999. She is currently an assistant professor at UNMC and has a Creighton University Contributed Services Faculty Appointment. Dr. Woehrer is originally from Lincoln, Neb., and completed her medical education at UNMC.
Dr. Woehrer is taking over the ACOS for Education position from Dr. Matthew Rivard who served in this position for three years and is now the Chief of Surgery for NWIHCS.
