The UNMC community exceeded both of its goals for the 2016 United Way of the Midlands campaign, outdoing a fundraising goal of $160,000 by raising $176,974.57, while breaking the total campus participation goal — 50 percent — with a 54 percent participation rate.
The fundraising figure makes 2016 the third year in a row that UNMC notched its most successful campaign ever.
Not only did overall participation exceed the 50 percent goal, but three departments reached 100 percent participation including: Student Affairs, the College of Allied Health Professions, and the College of Public Health.
Final participation figures were:
- Student Affairs: 100 percent
- College of Allied Health Professions: 100 percent
- College of Public Health: 100 percent
- Chancellor’s Unit: 89 percent
- Eppley Institute: 88 percent
- Academic Affairs: 82 percent
- Human Resources: 79 percent
- Facilities Management and Planning: 74 percent
- Munroe-Meyer Institute: 66 percent
- Information Technology Services: 64 percent
- Research: 61 percent
- College of Nursing: 55 percent
- Business and Finance: 55 percent
- College of Medicine: 44 percent
- College of Pharmacy: 38 percent
- College of Dentistry: 5 percent
