It is National Health Care Environmental Services Week.
The 271 EVS employees at the clinical enterprise come from a variety of countries and represent seven different languages.
Each day, EVS workers clean 3.7 million square feet, the equivalent of 2,055 average-size homes.
“This is a time of year that we recognize the combined efforts of our cleaners and techs for their contribution to the mission and vision of UNMC and Nebraska Medicine,” said Paul Turner, director of EVS. “We also want to sincerely thank all our customers for their support and feedback.”
“Environmental Services Week is a special time set aside to celebrate the tremendous group of folk we have here in our department,” said Paula Nenneman, general manager. “They are dedicated to their jobs and we truly value their contribution to enhance the patient experience and provide a pleasing environment for our students and staff.”
Take time this week to thank your EVS worker.

Aluel Lual recently joined the DRC 1 8th floor. She is doing a fabulous job and making our floor shine! She is a blessing and often greets us with a wonderful smile!
