The Interprofessional Academy of Educators (IAE) will hold its first training program, Teaching Launchpad, beginning in September.
The four-session series, which runs from September through May, is designed for all UNMC health sciences faculty and staff who are new to teaching or assuming a new teaching role.
Topics will include:
- Course Development: Sept. 16
- Assessment & Evaluation: Nov. 18
- Teaching Strategies: Feb. 17
- Educational Scholarship: May 19
“One of the key roles of the academy is to share our members’ expertise with others to foster excellence in the educational skills of all UNMC faculty,” said Geoffrey Talmon, M.D., director of the IAE. “The Teaching Launchpad will give those with new teaching responsibilities a solid foundation to succeed, highlight potential educational mentors, and allow participants to form connections with those with similar needs and interests.”
UNMC Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dele Davies, M.D., said, “The Teaching Launchpad is an excellent foundation for new and established faculty who are looking to bolster all aspects of their teaching. It is an excellent inaugural series for the new Interprofessional Academy.”
