In September, the Transportation and Parking Committee will launch a series of focus groups to address current and future parking issues for the medical center campus in midtown Omaha.
UNMC and Nebraska Medicine faculty, staff and students may volunteer to participate in any of the 10, one-hour sessions, to be led by Omaha consulting firm, J. Walker & Associates, Inc. (See sidebar at right for scheduled sessions).
“As the campus changes, parking must also change,” said Deb Thomas, vice chancellor for business and finance.
“We’re a landlocked campus and with projected growth among employees, patients and students, and a changing campus infrastructure, including new buildings and new flow of services, we need to explore solutions that work best for the entire campus.”
To express interest in volunteering for a focus group, click here and provide the requested information by Sept. 5. Individuals who express interest are not automatically guaranteed a slot, as selections will be random and consist of a cross section of faculty, staff and students from throughout campus. Participants selected will receive a confirmation email.
Feedback from the focus groups will be used to help the Transportation & Parking Committee make parking procedure and cost recommendations to campus leadership.
Results of the focus group sessions will be shared with the campus at a later date.
