Talk about your job and what you like best about it:

I work with faculty, administrators and staff.  My job is to coordinate, maintain and monitor the personnel information in the COM Dean’s Offices and for the College of Medicine. We are a very busy office and handle lots of questions and paperwork.  I like that no day is ever alike with something new and challenging always coming up.

Your favorite memory of working at UNMC:

I actually have two favorite memories, one was how we all felt this year when we finally got everything in and made it through budget season. This was a tough year!  The second memory was a birthday luncheon we had when Dr. John Gollan was dean.  He told some great stories, and I will never think about a certain medical procedure the same again. LOL

Hobbies:

Reading, knitting, sewing.  I inherited some quilt pieces, so I am now going to try and put my first quilt together.

List three things people may not know about you:

  1. I was born in Mesa, Ariz., and was one of five girls. We moved to Iowa during a snowstorm in December, when I was in grade school. This is probably why I’m not a cold weather person, and I don’t complain when it’s hot.
  2. I was a registered EMT.
  3. My first job was as a carhop at our local A&W Drive-In.  I didn’t use roller skates, but I did have a nifty coin changer. This is where I met my husband. We still laugh about all the root beer he used to drink trying to get me to go out with him.
