U.S. News & World Report evaluated nearly 5,000 hospitals nationwide to come up with this year’s list of Best Hospitals. And once again, Nebraska Medicine-Nebraska Medical Center is the top-rated hospital in the state of Nebraska.
In addition to being named as the best hospital in the state, Nebraska Medicine-Nebraska Medical Center was rated as high performing in eight specialties including:
- Cancer;
- Gastroenterology & GI Surgery;
- Geriatrics;
- Gynecology;
- Nephrology;
- Neurology & Neurosurgery;
- Pulmonology; and
- Urology.
“To again be named the best hospital in the state is a testament to the people who work for this organization and their continued dedication and passion,” said CEO Dan DeBehenke, M.D. “This award is a tangible reflection of the serious medicine and extraordinary care provided to our patients on a daily basis.”
The U.S. News Best Hospitals rankings, now in their 27th year, help guide patients to hospitals that deliver outstanding care across 25 specialties, procedures and conditions. The Best Hospitals methodologies include objective measures such as patient survival, the number of times a given procedure is performed, infection rates, adequacy of nurse staffing and more.
