The campus is invited to the Tuesday, Aug. 23, grand opening of the UNMC Center for Drug Discovery and Lozier Center for Pharmacy Sciences and Education at 3 p.m. on the Ruth and Bill Scott Student Plaza. Self-guided tours and snacks will follow the ceremony.
The $35 million, 85,000-square-foot building features both state-of-the-art research space and will serve as the new home base for the College of Pharmacy’s educational mission.
The research infrastructure will further UNMC’s role as an international leader in the fight against infectious diseases, especially in drug discovery and development, drug delivery and translational research that reaches real people.
The building was designed to ready future pharmacists for the changing health care landscape, using UNMC’s changing educational model. It is equipped with next-generation technology and experiential learning infrastructure for further emphasis on the increased role of pharmacists in providing primary care.
Check out the mock pharmacy, simulation suites and compounding lab.
Those who cannot attend will be able to watch the ceremony via livestream. A link will be shared in UNMC Today closer to the event.
