Sisters say good-bye to the College of Dentistry

Sisters Bev Hulsebusch and Jan John have spent the past 35 years working together.

Both are administrative assistants at the UNMC College of Dentistry and both retired on July 8 — Hulsebusch after 45 years of service and John after 35 years of service.

On the eve of their retirement, both shared their fondest memories of working for the College of Dentistry.

“My fondest memories would be the many people I have worked with and continue to call my friends,” Hulsebusch said. “I am especially blessed to still have a close relationship with my first supervisor at the college, Mrs. Orba Schreurs, who is 96 years old. I am looking forward to spending more time with my four grandchildren — Ava, Savanna, Keeley and Luke — and will continue to volunteer through the FoodNet Program in Lincoln.”

“My fondest memories include winning the ‘Silver U’ and ‘Gold U’ awards, and all the wonderful people I have met and worked with over the years,” John said. “A special thank you to Drs. William Kramer, Stephen Leeper, Michael Molvar and Timothy Durham for being the greatest bosses any person could hope for! I will miss everyone but will enjoy sleeping in and spending time with my grandsons, Cash and Cason.”
