Editor’s Note: Each month, InterCOM will highlight a "Student of the Month" from the College of Medicine. Students will be featured for their participation in activities outside of medical school and for making a difference in the community. The goal is to recognize students for what they are doing and to encourage other students to get involved in the community. After all, medical school should be much more than studying.

Staying Balanced:
I love being outside, and my favorite things to do are gardening and running. I also like learning new skills and am trying to learn calligraphy and to do the splits.
Three things people don't know about me:
- I took a year off between sophomore and junior year of college, during which I worked in a research lab, wrote mediocre short stories, and wore a lot of black.
- I use lavender oil every day!
- People may know I'm always cold, but they may not know that I accidentally set our kitchen floor on fire when I was young. I lost control of a small, personal fire I was using for warmth.
