Nebraska Medicine Interim CEO Rosanna Morris |
“The eight and a half years I have spent here have been the most fulfilling of my life professionally and personally,” Morris said. “Anything I accomplish in the future is because of what I’ve learned from everyone here at this medical center. It is a truly amazing place.”
“Rosanna Morris leads with grace, vision and intelligence,” said Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., chairman of the Nebraska Medicine board and chancellor of UNMC. “The changes in health care in recent years have been profound, and Nebraska Medicine — its patients and staff — have been tremendously fortunate to have Rosanna as CEO. We are truly grateful and wish her and her family the very best with her new responsibilities.”
“It’s been an honor to share Nebraska Medicine executive leadership with Rosanna for more than a year and I want to congratulate her on this new appointment,” said Brad Britigan, M.D., interim president of Nebraska Medicine and dean of the UNMC College of Medicine. “Rosanna is a great leader, a wonderful person and will truly be an asset for Royal Oak.”
“Rosanna’s 20 years of health care leadership experience and deep background in academic medicine will advance Royal Oak’s continued development as one of the nation’s premier academic medical centers,” said Carolyn Wilson, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Beaumont Health. “She will bring fresh perspectives and ideas along with a passion for exceptional patient care and service.”
Timing of the move is still being worked out, but Morris is dedicating her remaining time in Omaha to assist newly named CEO Dan DeBehnke, M.D., into his leadership role here when he begins August 1.
“It’s not going to be easy to say goodbye to a place I love, but I’m leaving on the best terms and in the best way possible — with a world-class team of leaders here (whom I also consider friends) to guide this organization and an amazing new CEO coming on board,” Morris says. “Most importantly, I know the thousands of people who work here, who live and breathe ‘Serious Medicine Extraordinary Care’ every day will keep on performing those everyday miracles for our patients.”
Though I am very excited for the new opportunity, I am going to miss your presence here. You are both exceptional and inspirational. Thank you for your service, Rosanna, and best wishes for your future! Michigan is lucky to have you!
