Brady Stuhmer

The Nebraska Institutional Development Award Program (IDeA) Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) program has welcomed 27 undergraduate students from across Nebraska as they embark on their summer research experience at Creighton University, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and UNMC.

Below, Brady Stuhmer talks about his INBRE experience.

Tell me about yourself.
I am a biochemistry major at Doane University, and I pride myself on hard work.

What are your career goals?
I want to become a pharmacist. I want to study and create new medicine that can cure disease.

How did you become interested in science?
I gained my interest in science during high school.

What do you hope the INBRE program will do for you?
I hope the INBRE program will give me more information to figure out what the next steps in my life will be. If I enjoy conducting research, I may focus my life more toward reaching that goal.

How do you see science evolving over the next 20 years?
I see a lot of advances coming over the next 20 years. Many different cures to many different diseases.
