A retirement celebration will be held for Alice Schumaker, Ph.D., associate professor, health services, research & administration, and associate dean for academic and student affairs, from 2-4 p.m. on June 13 in the Maurer Center for Public Health third floor common area. The celebration is open to the campus.
Dr. Schumaker joined UNMC in December 2009 as director of master’s programs for the College of Public Health. She had come to UNMC from the University of Nebraska at Omaha School of Public Administration, where she was associate professor and director of the master of public health program.
She was named associate dean for academic affairs in 2010, a role that was expanded last July to include student affairs.
Effective July 1, Kendra Schmid, Ph.D., associate professor of biostatistics and director of master’s program, will be interim associate dean for academic and student affairs.
