All students, staff, and faculty are invited to celebrate spring today at UNMC. From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., stop by the commons areas on the second floor of Sorrell for some fun spring activities.
At 11:30 a.m., LiveGreen will be planting a tree in the Ruth and Bill Scott Student Plaza in celebration of Arbor Day. They also will be giving away free trees and wildflower seeds on a first-come, first-served basis. After the tree planting, join LiveGreen and City Sprouts for an opportunity to get your hands dirty by helping plant some seeds.
After the Arbor Day activities, return to the Sorrell Center to build an ice cream sundae with fun flavors from Ted and Wally’s, including red velvet and chocolate chip cookie.
Stop by the prize table to get a UNMC scratch card and take a chance at winning some great prizes. Everyone who participates will get a free UNMC reusable food container.
Swing by our community partner booths. The Durham Museum, Joslyn Museum, Blackstone District and Midtown Crossing will all be available to tell you about upcoming events and promotions in Omaha this spring.
The UNMC Bookstore also will be on site with items for sale. All apparel and gifts are 30 percent off the entire day, so if you can’t make the event, be sure to stop by the bookstore to take advantage of the discounted prices.
