How did you start in your community service activities?
Service has been important to me all of my life. I was involved as a student in various service organizations. In the area of neonatal and perinatal care, I have been involved in the March of Dimes for the past 10 years. I served as March of Dimes board chair for the past two years. Through the March of Dimes and my work as a neonatologist, I saw a need for a statewide collaborative to work to improve outcomes.

Why do you feel community service is important?
Even if the world around us feels large and impersonal, we are all interconnected in a very personal way. By reaching out to help someone else, we can reaffirm that we are part of a larger community of caring individuals that will work together to ensure a better tomorrow for ourselves and our children.

List three things few people know about you.

  • I love being in the Wyoming mountains more than anywhere else.
  • I have been a Girl Scout Leader for the past five years.
  • My favorite travel outside of Wyoming is to visit national parks.
