Faculty, staff and students who want to receive farm-fresh produce and dairy delivered weekly to campus this summer need to sign-up for the UNMC Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program by May 9.
CSA will deliver for 15 weeks between May 16 and Aug 16.
Elizabeth Fiala, data associate, health professions tracking service, College of Public Health, coordinates UNMC’s corporate membership. “This is a great way to support the local farm economy,” she said.
The bags are conveniently delivered to the Maurer Center for Public Health building or to any Omaha area Hy-Vee.
A standard produce bag is $330 for the season. New this year are options for a one-half bag at $180 for the season, or an extra-large bag for $600 for the season.
Add on options for a weekly charge of $5 per item are available for one dozen farm fresh eggs and local cheese and bread. Participants also can order additional items available in the store from Tomāto Tomäto’s website and pick them up with their weekly bag.
Tomāto Tomäto also inserts a weekly newsletter in the bags that identifies the farmers who supplied the produce and provides simple recipes for the produce.
Sign up at Tomato Tomato and click on the Online Sign Up Form to choose the desired CSA share, delivery site and payment. An invoice will be emailed.
