Tell us a bit about what you do here at UNMC.
I am the communications coordinator for the Behavioral Health Education Center of Nebraska (BHECN, pronounced “beacon”), and I manage our communications strategy including maintaining our website, producing our e-newsletter, and helping present a clear message about BHECN’s mission to the public.
Working together is one of UNMC’s brand values. Tell us of a time that you have experienced people working together at UNMC.
Collaboration is paramount to the work we do at BHECN. We have many partners throughout the UNMC family, and it’s impressive to see the level of communication, innovative thinking, and teamwork to accomplish great things. Much of our success is the result of building strong relationships and being a part of ongoing conversations with our colleagues about industry needs and opportunities. It’s great to be part of such a strong alliance of professionals.
What is your favorite spring activity?
I can’t wait to line my front porch and back deck with many varieties of flowers. Geraniums are my favorite!
List three things people may not know about you.
- I am the president-elect for the Nebraska Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
- I love to dance and spent much of my youth studying dance and performing.
- I’m a Texas Longhorn through-and-through (livin’ in Husker country).
Welcome to UNMC, Krista! We're lucky to have you on our team!
