For the past several years, the UNMC Department of Public Relations has been creating brief one-minute videos each week for KETV (Ch. 7) in Omaha. The videos feature UNMC faculty as they answer basic questions of interest to the average viewer. The segments run on KETV’s morning newscasts on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. They also are distributed to other Nebraska TV and radio stations after they air on Ch. 7.
Here’s a sampling of four of the videos:
Video 1: Stephen Bonasera, M.D., Ph.D., internal medicine/geriatrics, "How do I know if I have Alzheimer’s or if I’m just getting forgetful?"
Video 2: Elizabeth Harlow, M.D., internal medicine/geriatrics, "Why do I need a pneumonia and shingles vaccine in my 60s?"
Video 3: Jeff Cooper, M.D., emergency medicine, "Does everyone suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning need hyperbaric oxygen?"
Video 4: Arwa Nasir, M.B.B.S., pediatrics, "What do I need to know about bedwetting in children?"
