In recognition of Black History Month, Othello H. Meadows, III, executive director of Seventy Five North Revitalization Corp., will speak on “The Will to Dig Deeper: Driving Community Development Through Education,” at 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 24.
Meadows, a native of Omaha, was previously the executive director of the Omaha Workforce Collaborative, a non-profit housed at the Omaha Chamber of Commerce, designed to restructure the workforce development efforts of the Omaha metropolitan area.
Meadows returned to Omaha before the 2008 election to run a non-partisan voter registration drive that registered more than 10,000 voters in eastern Omaha. Meadows, a lawyer, also is a board member at Creighton Preparatory School, the Jesuit Academy and Nebraska Appleseed. He currently chairs the Omaha Community Foundation’s African-American Unity Fund Grants Committee.
Meadows’ presentation will be held in the Sorrell Center, Room 1005. Dessert and lemonade will be provided.
