The presentation, by Beverly Patchell, Ph.D., assistant professor in the College of Nursing at the University of Utah, will be video broadcast to the following locations, as well:

- Lincoln division, Room 307

- Western division, Room 130D.
Dr. Patchell will speak about best-practice strategies to increase resilience factors in students in order to promote academic success.
The presentation’s objectives include:
- Describe the factor of resilience important to student success;
- Identify challenges to successful use of resilience factors in disadvantaged students; and
- Use strategies based on assessed levels of resilience in students to create effective processes for improved skill development.
The presentation will be divided into three sessions:
- Noon to 12:45 p.m.: Resilience: Factors for Student Success
- 1 to 2 p.m.: Resilience: Challenges Students Face
- 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.: Resilience: Strategies to Optimize Skill Development
- 3:30 to 3:45 p.m.: Q&A and Evaluations
The Resilience Workshop is being funded by a Nursing Workforce Diversity grant through the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration.
