Talk about your job and what you like best about it:

I am an office associate in the Department of Genetics, Cell Biology and Anatomy. I support the teaching faculty that provides education to first-year medical, PA, PT and graduate students. Having a background in education, I like that I can come to work every day and apply my true passions of education, curriculum instruction and technology. I previously worked for a small company, so what I like best about UNMC in the amount of people that I get to meet and network with on a daily basis.

Your favorite memory of working at UNMC:

I have only been at UNMC for little over a year, but my favorite memory thus far has been the engagement with the students. The majority of our students are just beginning their medical education. It’s refreshing to see and hear their enthusiasm and passion for education and medicine.

Hobbies:

I am a mother to a two-year old little boy, so my primary hobby is him!

Looking at antiques and repurposing furniture.

Crocheting, though I have little time for that now.

List three things people may not know about you:

I was a gymnast for 10 years. I started at the age of two.

I went to a two-room school house in the country from K-6th grade.

I was born and raised a farm girl. Now I get to watch my son have the same excitement and love for his grandparents’ farm.
