Retirement reception set for Jim Morgia

Jim Morgia

The ITS staff is hosting a retirement reception for Jim Morgia from 1:30-3 p.m. on Wednesday.

The reception will be held in the Business Service Center, Conference Room 2086, and refreshments will be offered. The UNMC community is invited to come wish Morgia well.

“Jim has been part of the ITS department for nearly 25 years,” said Joel Hovdenes, associate director. “He started in telecommunications and has spent most of his career being a trusted voice at the helpdesk. He has always been very committed to serving our customers and most recently was an ITS Silver U recipient. We will truly miss Jim, but are excited for him as he enters this next chapter in his life and we wish him and his family all the best.”

Morgia, lead help desk analyst, has been with UNMC since 1991.

Jim I have never had the opportunity to meet you face to face but I have certainly had the pleasure of working with you on many computer issues via phone. You never gave me the feeling of being computer challenged even though I am and we always had a few laughs while fixing the problem. I always knew when you answered the phone it was going to be an enjoyable call.
Congrats on your retirement. Enjoy the ride of your future adventures.
