Drs. Vose, Guda provide insight for oncology Twitter chats

With the help of subject matter experts – Julie Vose, M.D., M.B.A, Neumann M. and Mildred E. Harris Professor and chief of the division of hematology/oncology, and Babu Guda, Ph.D., associate professor, genetics, cell biology and anatomy and director of the Bioinformatics and Systems Biology Core Facility – the newly activated @BuffettCC Twitter account participated in two more successful Twitter chats over the past month – #CancerDisparities and #CancerGenomics.

A Twitter chat is an organized, real-time conversation around a particular topic. Both the Twitter chats were moderated by the National Cancer Institute.

The topic for the Nov. 18 chat involving Dr. Vose was, "A holistic approach to addressing cancer health disparities." Dr. Vose covered questions around late-stage diagnosis, low enrollment in clinical trials and screening in rural areas.
