NUFlex open enrollment concludes at 5 p.m. CST today.
After that point, it will no longer be possible to complete enrollment or change elections for the coming year.
Employees who have not completed enrollment, who will be notified by email today, should log on to Firefly, using their NU ID/user name and password, to review and/or make changes to their insured benefits. If you do not remember your NU ID/User Name and/or password, contact the Firefly support desk at 402-559-BUZZ (2899).
Below is a list of items that need to be completed each year during open enrollment:
- Elect your contribution for the flexible spending accounts (health care and/or dependent care) for the 2016 plan year. Flexible spending account participation does not automatically roll over from year to year — you are required to sign up each year. Employees are able to elect $2,550 for health care and $5,000 for dependent care for 2016 calendar year expenses.
- Complete the Wellstream Health Risk Assessment (HRA). By completing the HRA, your wellness benefits will increase from $250 to $300 for all covered dependents under your insurance who are age 2 and older. The wellness benefit increases from $500 to $600 for all covered dependents who are under age 2. You also will be able to obtain generic medications through the CVS Caremark mail-order program at no charge. In addition, anyone age 50 or older is eligible to receive a routine colonoscopy (1 every 10 years) at no cost to the employee if a PPO provider is used.
- Designate your tobacco/nicotine usage. Each year, everyone is reset to the default indicating “yes” for tobacco/nicotine product use for compliance with the university’s life insurance plan’s requirements. If you are a non-tobacco/nicotine user and you fail to re-designate that you are a non-user, your voluntary life insurance premiums will reflect the higher premiums of a tobacco/nicotine user.
Everyone who completes the 2016 annual enrollment process will get a confirmation statement emailed to their UNMC email account. This statement should be reviewed immediately to verify what they are enrolled in is correct. Any needed changes must be completed by 5 p.m. CST today. Remember, the system is extremely busy as it nears the deadline, so don’t risk being unable to access the enrollment process!
