University of Nebraska President Hank Bounds, Ph.D., will discuss efforts to make Nebraska the healthiest state in the nation when he is interviewed by Greg Sharpe, the “Voice of the Huskers,” Saturday during halftime of the 2:30 p.m. Nebraska-Rutgers football game.
Dr. Bounds, who is interviewed during each Husker game, will be speaking this week about an effort spearheaded by the UNMC College of Public Health and its dean, Ali S. Khan, M.D., M.P.H., to make Nebraska the top-ranked state in terms of health.

Earlier this year, Nebraska was ranked as the 10th healthiest state in the nation by America’s Health Rankings. Dr. Bounds will discuss UNMC’s goal to work with community partners to make Nebraska the healthiest state in the country by 2020.
Dr. Bounds will discuss UNMC’s role in training health care professionals, university partnerships such as the Food for Health Collaboration Initiative, and other topics, including strategies on how Nebraskans can become healthier.
