NUFlex open enrollment continues through Nov. 20.

NUFlex open enrollment continues through 5 p.m. on Nov. 20.

Employees should log on to Firefly, using their NU ID/user name and password, to review and/or make changes to their insured benefits. If you do not remember your NU ID/User Name and/or password, contact the Firefly support desk at 402-559-BUZZ (2899).

Below is a list of items that need to be completed each year during open enrollment:

  • Electing your contribution for the flexible spending accounts (health care and/or dependent care) for the 2016 plan year. Flexible spending account participation does not automatically roll over from year to year — you are required to sign up each year. Employees are able to elect $2,550 for health care and $5,000 for dependent care for 2016 calendar year expenses.
  • Completing the Wellstream Health Risk Assessment (HRA). By completing the HRA, your wellness benefits will increase from $250 to $300 for all covered dependents under your insurance who are age 2 and older. The wellness benefit increases from $500 to $600 for all covered dependents who are under age 2. You also will be able to obtain generic medications through the CVS Caremark mail-order program at no charge. In addition, anyone age 50 or older is eligible to receive a routine colonoscopy (1 every 10 years) at no cost to the employee if a PPO provider is used.
  • Designate your tobacco/nicotine usage. Each year, everyone is reset to the default indicating “yes” for tobacco/nicotine product use for compliance with the university’s life insurance plan’s requirements. If you are a non-tobacco/nicotine user and you fail to re-designate that you are a non-user, your voluntary life insurance premiums will reflect those of a tobacco/nicotine user.
