Formal kickoff activities took place this month for the curriculum redesign for the College of Medicine.
Chairs and committee members for the four Curriculum Oversight Committees were named by the Curriculum Transition Group, which is in charge of developing new curriculum for the College of Medicine.
The committee chairs are:
Foundational Sciences Oversight Committee (12 members) – Co-chairs: Geoffrey Talmon, M.D., pathology/microbiology, and Richard MacDonald, Ph.D., biochemistry.
Clinical Sciences Oversight Committee (10 members) – Sheila Ellis, M.D., anesthesiology.
Career Launch Oversight Committee (7 members) – Michael Wadman, M.D., emergency medicine.
Personal & Professional Preparation Committee (9 members) – Regan Taylor, M.D., internal medicine.
"We’re off to a great start," said Kelly Caverzagie, M.D., associate dean for educational strategy and one of the lead members of the Curriculum Transition Group. "More than 100 faculty members and residents have volunteered their time and energy to help out with redesign process. That speaks volume for the commitment of the faculty to this endeavor."
