There will be a retirement reception today for J. Michael Leibowitz, Ph.D., from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in Private Dining Rooms A and B in the University Tower.
The campus is invited to the event, which will mark Dr. Leibowitz’s retirement as the director of the Munroe-Meyer Institute, a position he has held since 2009.
Wayne Stuberg, Ph.D., interim director of MMI, said the event will give MMI staff and other UNMC friends a chance to say goodbye to Dr. Leibowitz, who has been at MMI for more than 40 years.
“In addition to extending our best wishes for his retirement, this event is a chance to celebrate Mike’s many accomplishments at MMI,” Dr. Stuberg said. “Four decades of helping individuals with disabilities and their families — that’s a legacy to be proud of.”
Refreshments will be available at the event.
