For the past several years, the UNMC Department of Public Relations has been creating brief one-minute videos each week for KETV (Ch. 7) in Omaha. The videos feature UNMC faculty as they answer basic questions of interest to the average viewer. The segments run on KETV’s morning newscasts on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. They also are distributed to other Nebraska TV and radio stations after they air on Ch. 7.
Here’s a sampling of four of the videos:
Video 1: Aru Panwar, M.D., otolaryngology – head and neck surgery. “How is cigarette smoking and tobacco chew related to head and neck cancers?”
Video 2: Howard Liu, M.D., psychiatry. “How do I help my child cope with the loss of our family pet?”
Video 3: Patti Fries, O.D., ophthalmology and visual sciences. “What is the proper way to care for contact lenses?”
Video 4: Steven Black, M.D., surgery – plastic and reconstructive. “Who is a good candidate for spider vein surgery?”
