Each Thursday, we randomly feature a medical center employee. This week, we learn more about:
- Name: Justin Obermeier
- Home state: Nebraska
- No. of years at UNMC: Almost four
Tell us a bit about what you do here at UNMC?
I am a workstation specialist for the College of Public Health. In this position, I support our faculty and staff with their technology hardware- and software-related needs. Working together is one of UNMC's brand values. Tell us of a time you witnessed a person or group work together at UNMC?
Working in IT allows me to get a real look at how most of our faculty and staff work on a daily basis. No matter whether the work covers education, research, community engagement, training or many others, there are numerous employees that must all play a small part and work together to make the finished product great. What is your favorite summer activity?
I really enjoy being outside. Normally, you can find me working in the yard/garden, working on various house upkeep items or relaxing with a cookout or the occasional golf outing. List three things people may not know about you?
- I have lived all across the state of Nebraska, covering six cities starting in Ogallala then moving to Scottsbluff, Aurora, Grand Island, Lincoln and now Omaha, and 12 different addresses.
- I am trying to visit all of the Major League Baseball stadiums. Currently I have been to 13 different stadiums in 11 cities.
- My wife and I are expecting a baby in September. We currently have two boys.
Justin is one of my saviors when I have problems with technology. He is gentle, friendly, dedicated and always willing to help. Thanks Justin!
So great to work with!!! We appreciate all you do.
Justin is one of our favorite's, he is 'all-knowing' and always comes up with a fix quickly. I enjoy working with him, as he is a very special person, (and he knows how to clean out the refrigerator)! Thanks for being a part of the team, Congrats Justin,
Great to work with…thanks for all the help Justin, and congrats on the new baby!
Justin is outstanding at what he does–and he does it all with patience and kindness. COPH is lucky to have him.
