The new universal roll towel will allow users to pull towels out without touching the dispenser, potentially reducing the transmission of germs. The new design will also result in less waste and provide for greater cost savings, said Paula Nenneman, general manager for Sodexo. It also will be more efficient, as EVS workers won’t need to fill the dispensers as often.
Work to install the new dispensers will begin each day at 5 a.m. on the UNMC campus, move to the Nebraska Medicine campus in the afternoon and to the clinics in the evening. An EVS manager will escort the installation team each day, Nenneman said. She hopes to have all the new dispensers in place by June 12.
The new dispenser will be installed in most locations, Nenneman said, with the exception being a few sites where it doesn’t fit in the existing space.
Awesome! It was so frustrating to wash your hands only to then have to turn the knob to get a paper towel–defeating the purpose of washing your hands in the first place. Now if we could get automatic faucets that didn't require turning on and off the water–that would be even better!
