Fifty-nine high school students from 11 metro-area school districts and 19 high schools graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s High School Alliance program on Thursday, May 21.
A graduation ceremony and reception was held at the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education on the UNMC campus, where each student received a certificate of completion.
For the past nine months the students participated in a range of courses including infectious diseases, anatomy and medical decision making.
The courses – specifically designed for high school students – were taught by UNMC faculty on the medical center campus. The High School Alliance program provides students a unique hands-on learning experience that is different from what students would have access to at their high school. Most of the courses offered in the program are eligible for dual enrollment college credit.
Here is a list of the graduating class, listed alphabetically by the high school they attend. To see a video of the class of 2015 and their experiences throughout the past school year click here.
