My wife, Joelle, and 3-year-old son, Jaxton, bring tremendous balance to my life. I also try to exercise daily, stay politically and socially active, and not neglect my spiritual wellbeing. I've recently begun experimenting with meditation. List three things people may not know about you:
- Growing up, I played on a traveling soccer team for six years, winning tournaments throughout the Midwest and even winning the South Dakota State Tournament.
- After graduating high school, I had the opportunity to travel to Kenya and it was an unforgettable experience. Among the highlights were petting a rhinoceros, eating crocodile and getting attacked by safari ants.
- I'm awful at small talk, but almost always enjoy a good conversation on science and technology, religion, or politics. Basically, if it's been the topic of a TED Talk, I'm likely to enjoy discussing it.
