All faculty, staff, and students with international projects, travel, collaborations and service learning are invited to a seminar from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday in the Maurer Center for Public Health, Room 3013.
UNMC is increasingly partnering with foreign countries and institutions in activities related to research, education, and health care. These are exciting opportunities for our faculty and students, but they do carry elements of risk and require an understanding of the applicable federal regulations to know when to ask for help and to seek it early.
The seminar will feature a panel presentation and case studies by campus experts. Panelists will include:
- College of Public Health Dean Ali S. Khan, M.D., M.P.H.;
- Vice Chancellor for Research Jennifer Larsen, M.D.;
- Marsha Morien, export control compliance officer;
- Deborah Vetter, director of sponsored programs administration; and
- Sara Pirtle, international health and medical education outreach program specialist.
The seminar will feature an interactive approach designed to answer your questions.
Live streaming and video archival will be available.

Session recordings will be posted to the Research Users Group (RUG) website here.
