If you’ve been listening to any of NRG Media’s seven Omaha radio stations, you’ve probably heard the promotions for the first-ever WE CAN Cure-a-Thon to raise money for research and patient support at the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center.
WE CAN Cure-a-thon
- April 9-10
- On all seven NRG Media radio stations
- KMMQ-1020 AM
- KOIL-1290 AM
- KOOO-101.9 FM
- KOPW-106.9 FM
- KOZN-1620 AM
- KQKQ-98.5 FM
- KZOT-1180 AM
During the WE CAN event, NRG listeners will hear the stories of UNMC and Nebraska Medicine’s patients, providers and researchers. They’ll hear about what’s being done now and what will be done in the future to fight cancer and support the people who are fighting for their lives.
The cure-a-thon can’t succeed without help from around the community and from within our medical center. Med center staff can lend a hand by helping to answer phones during the event.
“Having volunteers who can spend an hour or two at the radio station will really help this succeed,” says Crash Davis, on-air personality at 101.9 The Keg. “People who work at the med center know better than anyone how these donations can help.”
Anyone willing to help answer pledge calls at NRG Media headquarters near 50th & Dodge, Thursday or Friday can email Jenny at Q98.5 FM.
