- New title and department at UNMC: Assistant professor of internal medicine, division of rheumatology
Research/Professional Interests:
I enjoy caring for patients with a variety of different rheumatologic disorders, but have a particular interest in the inflammatory myopathies, rheumatoid arthritis and gout.
How I fell in love with rheumatology:
From a young age, my parents exposed me to the sciences, and over the years it became an area that I became increasingly interested in. As I entered college, I knew that I would pursue an area of study in the sciences. A career in medicine allows me to apply my interest in science with patient care and development. I was drawn to rheumatology, as it is a field which encompasses a variety of complex, multisystemic disorders which can be challenging, but very rewarding to treat.
Degrees:
- Bachelor of science, University of Nebraska-Lincoln
- Doctorate of Medicine, UNMC
Memberships:
- American College of Rheumatology (ACR)
- International Myositis Assessment and Clinical Studies group (IMACS)

- I have two children (ages 8 and 11) who keep me busy in my free time.
- We enjoy attending local sporting events, and working on projects around the house.
