Frame show on Friday
Know a specific line you love or just love looking at the newest eyewear available? University Optical has quarterly frame shows where the newest trends in optics are showcased in their entirety. While there, you’ll be fit and measured by the same certified opticians offering custom care. You’ll be called when your glasses arrive so you can have them adjusted to perfection.
The next frame show is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, March 6, in the University Tower Private Dining Room. We will be showcasing styles from Oakley, Arnette, Carrera, and many more.
The Truhlsen Eye Institute (TEI) locations offer options that, when used in conjunction with EyeMed eye insurance available to employees, may save time and bring the price of glasses below “mall” cost.
“University Optical offers a wide array of frames to meet the demands of even the most discerning clients,” said Quan Dong Nguyen, M.D., the McGaw Memorial Chair of Ophthalmology and inaugural director of the Truhlsen Eye Institute. University Optical offers a myriad of different lines, he said, including Polo Ralph Lauren, Jones New York, Jimmy Choo, Oakley and Rayban. All locations specialize in hard to fit patients from petite to XXL frames.
University Optical offers convenient modalities for frame selection. If you have trouble finding a color or size you like in the store, the staff is capable of working with you to find your perfect fit. Additionally, you are encouraged to check out frames and show them to your family, friends, and coworkers at your leisure. Please use inter-office mail if that is a more convenient option for returning the frames, just make sure you package them carefully.
Employees and immediate family members receive a 15 percent discount on both lenses and frames at locations that are convenient to all UNMC and Nebraska Medicine employees.
If you have EyeMed Insurance, offered by both UNMC and Nebraska Medicine, pricing will reflect those benefits. This often brings the pricing down to a fraction of retail cost, Dr. Nguyen said.
If you wear contacts, you can order by phone and receive the contacts via interoffice mail.
How can you beat personal service, at-your-door delivery, chic selections, and great discounts? Sure, you still have to see the optician for measurements and fitting, but the rest can be done by phone or email.
And of course, if you or your family members, including your children, have any eye problems, from cataract, glaucoma, drooping lid to new prescription for glasses to macular degeneration and diabetic eye diseases, please call 402-559-2020 to schedule an appointment to see one of the TEI faculty specialists at one of the three TEI locations (main campus, Village Pointe, and Bellevue).
Great to know! I am looking forward to trying it out.
