Status changes may affect insurance coverage

Are you getting married? Having a baby? Needing to add or drop a dependent from your insurance? Just a friendly reminder that the benefits office must be notified within 31 days of any IRS-approved status change.

Below is a list of some of the IRS-approved status changes that may affect your insurance. If you wish to make changes to any of your coverages, please contact the benefits office at 402-559-4340.

  • Marriage/Divorce.
  • New baby.
  • Loss of coverage under a spouse.
  • Dependent gain or loss of other coverage.
  • Open enrollment under a dependent’s company.
  • Death of a dependent.
  • Medicare/Medicaid change of eligibility.
