Ina Kim, M.D., is a new faculty member at UNMC. Here’s a brief rundown of her background and the expertise she brings to campus.
- Name: Ina Kim, M.D.
- Hometown: Plano, Texas
- New title and department at UNMC: Assistant professor of surgery, urology
How I fell in love with urology:
Urology allows me to treat a wide variety of patients — men and women, adults and children — using both medical management and surgical options. I feel honored that my patients allow me to be a partner in health, whether it be addressing their problems with urination, sexual function, infertility, cancer or stones.
Research/ Professional Interests:
I have a particular interest in infertility and helping couples become pregnant, but I am interested in treating all urologic diseases.
Degrees:
- M.D., Baylor College of Medicine (residency: Cleveland Clinic Foundation)
- M.P.H., Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
Memberships:
- American Urological Association
A couple of things people may not know about me:
- In another life, I would have been a pastry chef or a restaurant critic.
- Although I grew up in Texas, I know nothing about football.
