Cody Sasek, assistant professor of physician assistant education in the School of Allied Health Professions, had his study “An update on primary care management of knee osteoarthritis,” published as the cover story in the Jan. 15 edition of The Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Physical therapy student receives Midwest Deans Legacy Scholarship
Anne Woodruff, a third-year physical therapy student, is the first student from UNMC to receive the Midwest Deans Legacy Scholarship, established to honor the legacies of current and former deans and directors of the Midwest Association of Allied Health Deans of Academic Health Centers. Two scholarships are awarded each year from member institutions of the Midwest Association (of which there are 18 universities).
MMI-Rose Theater collaboration wins award
The Munroe-Meyer Institute and the Rose Theater won the Playbill Community Service Award through an online voting contest that netted $1,000 to help support MMI programming. The organizations won against four other finalists for a collaboration in which members of The Rose Theater Brigade conducted a free musical theater class for students at MMI, working together on scenes from Disney’s “Aladdin.” The Rose Theater Brigade is a select group of musical theater performers ages 13 to 18 who perform on The Rose Theater’s main stage before select performances and travel to local and regional competitions.
